So it all started with DLC: Gift of Ancients. I added these "circuit structures"
They were supossed to be part of a bigger thing. In that DLC, you would have to go to one in basalt deltas and get circuit scrap and then go to the satelite in overworld to spawn space slime. All of these structures were also radiated.
Later. I removed the "circuit" part of them and made them End-like. Sadly, this didnt worked too. Its just a forced feature. Well, its time to talk about that bigger thing. It was a story thing. I wont really tell the story, since to get it, I would have to tell a lot of potential spoilers for my upcoming projects. But this story was cancelled due to not fitting into MC.
At the end of the game, after 4rth dimension (which I wont reveal, since its still planned) you would go to the 5th dimension. This one was supossed to be infinitely generating dungeon, simillar to Wesley's roguelike infinite dungeon. This whole dungeon would have over 500 different rooms with battles, puzzles and treasures. It would have also be themed this "circuit way, thats why active circuit blocks couldnt have been found in survival, it was supossed to act as unbreakable wall. Few new mobs were also supossed to spawn here and also a lot of "circuit" versions of existing mobs like zombies, creepers and skeletons harder to kill. Boss of this dimension was also supossed to be the final boss of DLC Collection. I wont tell much since I may still return some of its features in a new final boss I have planned.
Final boss was supossed to have 3 phases, many attacks and big chunk of health like nothing you ever saw before in MC (propably). I will not talk about first phase, since its really simillar to new planned final boss. Second phase was supossed to summon "circuit" versions of all the bosses (space slime, bee queen, redstone golem and more which will be added in future DLCs).
Third phase was supossed to transform into Heart of Ender from MC Dungeons and to have epic final battle with it. Story was also aimed to be a prequel to Dungeons in era set between MC and Dungeons, but this is no longer the case, Heart of Ender might pop-up somewhere else in the mod, but the chance of it is really small.
So, later, when I removed this "circuit" aesthetic, I was aiming for a style between end and deep dark. Something like disturbing with corrupted versions of monster and so on. Sadly. I couldn't try to fit the it somehow, it just all felt forced and I didnt really liked it anymore.
It would be also harder to make on a technical level since rooms would have to be detailed and I would have to make TON of new blocks.
I will remove all these parts like satelite and basalt delta structures from gameplay and will work on a new way to summon the space slime.
So, thats why I scrapped this. I now have what I believe to be a better concept for the 5th dimension and final boss. So, lets see if the wait will be even worth it XD, after all, there are MANY DLCs left before 1.0. :-)
